Professional client
classification.
Professional classification changes the leverage, reporting and support available on a CaeloPrime account — and the protections that apply to it. This page explains the criteria, the trade-offs and the process.
How classification is assessed
- Trading experience
- A meaningful record of trading the relevant instruments in significant size over the preceding twelve months.
- Portfolio size
- A financial instrument portfolio, including cash deposits, above the threshold set for the account type.
- Professional background
- At least one year in a professional position in the financial sector requiring knowledge of the transactions envisaged.
Classification is assessed case by case. Meeting one criterion on its own is not sufficient, and a classification can be reviewed again if your trading profile changes.
What changes when you are classified professional

|---|---|---|
| Leverage available | Standard tiers | Extended tiers on eligible instruments |
| Risk warnings | Full standardised warnings | Condensed, on request |

Protections you give up
Professional classification is not simply an upgrade. Higher leverage increases the size of losses as well as gains, and some retail-oriented protections — standardised risk warnings and certain limits — no longer apply by default.
You can ask to be reclassified as a retail client at any time. Read the risk disclosure before requesting a change.
